Piazza Pod Park is a Massive Shipping Container Hub in Pennsylvania
The Piazza Pod Park just opened in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The massive shipping container park is taking over a 35,000 square foot empty parking lot. The park is made up of 15 customized shipping containers, ranging between 10 ft. and 40 ft. long. It is loosely based on the concept of the Las Vegas Container Park.
The park has an indoor, climate-controlled dining shipping container pod, which is two stories and has a deck on the roof. They offer a wide variety of multi-cultural dining, along with a brewery and a distillery; all of the restaurants have something exclusive to the park. There are also three family pods, which Includes a pod specifically for nursing mothers.
Shipping Container Park Food Vendors
Some of the food vendors at the park include Dim Sum House’s Lil’ Sum Sum, French Toast Bites by Lokal Artisan Foods, Empanada Box, Craft Beer Concepts Inspired by BRU Craft & Wurst, and Tiki Tako.
The food vendors said the opening weekend for the park greatly exceeded their expectations.
"We actually had to head out several times to restock supplies," Urban Village owner and head brewer Dave Goldman said. "We had come into the weekend with supplies for seven days, and in fact used them and doubled what we needed in a two-day period."
