Privacy Policy

This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their ‘Personally identifiable information’ (PII) is being used online. PII, as used in US privacy law and information security, is information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with our website.

What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our blog, website or app?

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number or other details to help you with your experience.

When do we collect information?

We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to a newsletter, respond to a survey or enter information on our site.

How do we use your information?

We may use the information we collect from you when you register, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

  • To improve our website in order to better serve you.
  • To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.
  • To quickly process your transactions.

How do we protect visitor information?

Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible.

We use regular Malware Scanning.

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

We implement a variety of security measures when a user places an order enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.

All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

What we use and why

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies ("tracking technologies") on containerone.net. They fall into four groups:

Strictly necessary. Required for the site to work: keeping items in your cart, checkout, security, fraud prevention, and remembering your cookie choices. These cannot be turned off. Provider: Shopify.

Analytics. Help us understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on page, errors) so we can improve it. Providers: Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity.

Advertising. Used by us and third-party advertising partners to measure our ads and show you relevant Container One ads on other sites and apps. When enabled, these partners may receive information about your visit, including pages viewed and products you looked at, and may combine it with information they hold about you. Providers: Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads.

Preferences and communications. Remember your settings and support email and SMS programs you have signed up for. Providers: HubSpot.

Your choices

When you first visit our site, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential tracking technologies. If you reject them, we do not load analytics or advertising tracking technologies on your device, and we do not share your browsing activity with advertising partners. Only strictly necessary cookies remain active.

To change your choice later, clear this site's cookies in your browser settings and the banner will appear again on your next visit. Your choice is stored in your browser for 12 months and then we will ask you again. Clearing your cookies or using a different browser or device will also cause the banner to appear again.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, or of targeted advertising. Rejecting advertising cookies in the banner exercises that right for this browser. You can also submit a request through our Your Privacy Choices page or by emailing [email protected].

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, because there is no common standard for them; use our cookie banner, our Your Privacy Choices page, or GPC instead.

You can also manage cookies in your browser settings, and opt out of interest-based advertising from many partners at the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info). Meta and Google each provide their own ad settings controls.

How we share information from tracking technologies

Where you have allowed advertising tracking technologies, the information they collect (such as an identifier, IP address, pages viewed, and purchases) is shared with the advertising partners listed above under the "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" definitions in some state privacy laws. We do not share this information when you have rejected advertising tracking technologies. Analytics providers process information on our behalf to produce reports for us.

Third Party Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties for marketing or promotional purposes. This does not include service providers who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, provided those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also disclose information when required by law or when necessary to enforce our site policies or protect our or others’ rights, property, or safety.

Information collected through advertising tracking technologies is shared with advertising partners only as described in the Cookies and Tracking Technologies section above, and only when you have not rejected those technologies. Some state laws treat this sharing as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; see Your choices above for how to opt out.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram)

We use advertising and measurement technologies provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. (“Meta”), including the Meta Pixel and related Meta advertising technologies.

These technologies help us measure the effectiveness of our advertising, understand how visitors interact with our website, attribute website activity and conversions to advertising campaigns, create and manage advertising audiences, conduct remarketing, and deliver or improve advertisements on Meta services such as Facebook and Instagram.

If you have accepted advertising tracking technologies, these technologies collect or receive information about your interactions with our website, such as pages or products viewed, actions taken on the website, device and browser information, IP address, advertising identifiers, and information associated with website events or transactions. Certain information may be transmitted to Meta for advertising, measurement, attribution, analytics, audience creation, and campaign optimization purposes.

We may use Meta advertising features such as remarketing, Custom Audiences, and similar audience or campaign measurement tools. Meta may process information it receives in accordance with its own privacy policies and terms.

Meta advertising technologies are not loaded if you reject advertising tracking technologies in our cookie banner, regardless of where you live. You may exercise applicable rights regarding targeted advertising or the sharing of personal information for advertising purposes through our Your Privacy Choices page.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to opt out of certain uses or sharing of your personal information, including the use of your personal information for targeted advertising.

You can exercise these rights at any time by visiting our Your Privacy Choices page and submitting your preferences.

Your privacy choices will not prevent us from using information as necessary to process transactions, fulfill orders, provide customer service, maintain security, or comply with legal obligations.

California Online Privacy Protection Act

CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy policy. The law’s reach stretches well beyond California to require a person or company in the United States (and conceivably the world) that operates websites collecting personally identifiable information from California consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected and those individuals with whom it is being shared, and to comply with this policy. – See more at: http://consumercal.org/california-online-privacy-protection-act-caloppa/#sthash.0FdRbT51.dpuf

According to CalOPPA we agree to the following:

Users can visit our site anonymously

Our Privacy Policy link includes the word ‘Privacy’, and can be easily be found on the page specified above.

Users will be notified of any privacy policy changes:

  • On our Privacy Policy Page

Users are able to change their personal information:

  • By calling us

COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under 13, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, the nation’s consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online.

We do not specifically market to children under 13.

Fair Information Practices

The Fair Information Practices Principles form the backbone of privacy law in the United States and the concepts they include have played a significant role in the development of data protection laws around the globe. Understanding the Fair Information Practice Principles and how they should be implemented is critical to comply with the various privacy laws that protect personal information.

In order to be in line with Fair Information Practices we will take the following responsive action, should a data breach occur:

We will notify the users via email

  • Within 7 business days

We also agree to the individual redress principle, which requires that individuals have a right to pursue legally enforceable rights against data collectors and processors who fail to adhere to the law. This principle requires not only that individuals have enforceable rights against data users, but also that individuals have recourse to courts or a government agency to investigate and/or prosecute non-compliance by data processors.

CAN SPAM Act

The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.

We collect your email address in order to:

  • Send information, respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions.
  • Process orders and to send information and updates pertaining to orders
  • We may also send you additional information related to your product and/or service.
  • Market to our mailing list or continue to send emails to our clients after the original transaction has occurred

To be in accordance with CANSPAM we agree to the following:

  • NOT use false, or misleading subjects or email addresses
  • Identify the message as an advertisement in some reasonable way
  • Include the physical address of our business or site headquarters
  • Monitor third party email marketing services for compliance, if one is used.
  • Honor opt-out/unsubscribe requests quickly
  • Allow users to unsubscribe by using the link at the bottom of each email

If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future marketing emails, you may follow the unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each marketing email.

We will promptly honor applicable opt-out requests. You may continue to receive transactional, service-related, or other non-marketing communications when necessary.
