Shipping Containers for Government and Municipal Agencies

Public works, parks, utilities, and emergency management storage for federal, state, and local government. Delivered nationwide with freight included.

Used 20ft containers run $2,000 to $3,800 delivered, and used 40ft containers run $2,800 to $4,500, with freight included in the ZIP code price. New 1-Trip units run $3,500 to $5,500 for a 20ft and $4,500 to $7,500 for a 40ft. Standard units ship in 5 to 10 business days from the depot nearest your site. Orders of three or more units go through the bulk desk for volume pricing and phased delivery.

We have sold containers for over 35 years and served more than 70,000 customers, including federal agencies, state departments of transportation, and hundreds of municipalities. We sell rather than rent, so the unit becomes a department asset rather than a recurring line item on a hire agreement. If you are still scoping what a department or facility needs, our government and municipal buyer's guide covers applications, procurement pathways, and condition grades by use case in detail.

Why Government Agencies Buy From Us

Delivered Price Includes Freight

300+ Depot Locations

Volume Pricing on 3+ Units

Enter a facility ZIP code and see the all-in delivered price. Pricing reflects the five nearest depots, so the quote returned is the lowest available for that address.

We dispatch from the depot nearest to each facility, which keeps delivery costs down for agencies operating across several counties or districts.

Three or more units on a single purchase order receive volume pricing, phased delivery, and multi-address dispatch across department locations.

Containers for Public Sector Facilities

Four configurations cover most government and municipal requirements: the 20ft WWT for tool and materials storage, the 40ft WWT for public works and multi-crew depots, the 40ft High Cube where taller equipment needs headroom, and a New 1-Trip unit as the base for a field office or command post. All prices include delivery to your ZIP code.

Standardizing Specification Across a Multi-Facility Program

Agencies running several departments or facilities get the most value from a single standardized specification held on file.

One spec across every facility means crews moving between sites already know the layout, that replacement parts and keys are interchangeable, and that reordering under the same contract is a phone call rather than a fresh configuration exercise.

It also improves the quote. A standardized multi-unit order dispatched from several depots to several addresses is efficient for us to fulfill. That efficiency comes back in the pricing, which matters when the specification has to hold across a multi-year budget cycle.

Running a program across more than three facilities? Call (330) 286-0526 and ask the bulk desk to set up a program specification.

Pricing

All prices include delivery to your ZIP code with no separate freight charge. Pricing reflects the five nearest depot locations, so the quote returned is the lowest available rate for that address. Depot-adjacent facilities typically price lower than remote or rural sites.

A single agreement covering the full order, including modifications.

Call (330) 286-0526 and ask for the bulk desk, or email [email protected] with your facility list and unit count.

Payment, Financing, and Section 179

Four payment routes are available: card or ACH for immediate purchase; Clicklease equipment financing over 12 to 60 months with 60-second approval and a soft credit pull; Affirm at checkout for shorter terms; and pay-on-delivery for qualifying addresses, where the unit is inspected before payment clears. Most agencies purchasing under a departmental budget use a standard card, ACH, or a purchase order rather than financing.

Section 179 depreciation applies to business purchases and generally does not apply to government agency purchases. If your organization is a private contractor working under a government contract rather than the agency itself, confirm treatment with your tax advisor. Full payment terms are on the financing options page.

The same agreement covers modifications ordered with the container, so the full package should be specified up front rather than added afterward.

Cooperative Purchasing, Contracts, and Vendor Setup

We supply federal agencies, state departments of transportation, county and municipal governments, school districts, and public utilities that purchase through formal procurement. Purchase orders, cooperative purchasing agreements, vendor onboarding documentation, W-9 requests, certificates of insurance, and tax-exempt purchases are handled through the bulk desk rather than standard checkout.

  • Purchase Orders: Accepted on qualifying agency accounts. Contact the bulk desk before raising the PO so the specification and delivered pricing are confirmed first.
  • Cooperative Purchasing: Many agencies can purchase against an existing cooperative agreement rather than running an independent competitive bid. Ask the bulk desk which pathway applies to your agency before starting a solicitation.
  • Vendor Setup: We can complete standard vendor onboarding packs, W-9s, and agency-specific vendor registration forms on request.
  • Certificates of Insurance: Available on request where a facility or contract requires one before delivery.
  • Tax-exempt Purchases: Provide your exemption certificate at the time of order so the invoice is raised correctly.

GSA schedule status and specific cooperative contract vehicles vary and should be confirmed directly with your agency's bulk desk before a solicitation is drafted, as availability differs by contract and by state. Bringing procurement into the conversation early avoids the common delay where a specification is agreed, a PO or requisition is raised against the wrong figure, and the order has to be reworked. Call (330) 286-0526 before the PO is issued.

Lead Times

Standard containers ship in 5 to 10 business days from order confirmation. Modified units take longer because modification work is completed before the container leaves our facility. If you are working to a fiscal year deadline or a grant spending deadline, confirm lead time with us before ordering rather than after.

Delivery is by tilt-bed truck. The site needs 12 feet of access width, 60 feet of clear run-out at the drop point, 14 feet of overhead clearance, and firm level ground. Confirm site access requirements with facilities staff before scheduling, particularly for locations behind secured perimeters where an escort or advance clearance may be required.

Inspection and Warranty

Every container is inspected before dispatch and again upon delivery, and the condition record is reviewed with you at the point of handover. New 1-Trip units carry a 10-year structural and 10-year no-leak warranty. Used grades carry shorter terms, which are confirmed at the point of order.

Pay-on-delivery is available for qualifying addresses, which means the container is placed and inspected on your site before payment clears. For agencies buying from a supplier for the first time, this eliminates the risk that the delivered unit does not match the grade specified in the requisition. The process is documented on the container inspection process page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer volume pricing on multiple containers for a department or agency?

Yes. Orders of three or more units go through the bulk desk, which applies volume pricing across the order rather than per-unit list pricing. Phased delivery and multi-address dispatch across facilities are included—call (330) 286-0526 with your facility list and unit count.

Can I pay by purchase order?

Purchase orders are accepted on qualifying agency accounts. Contact the bulk desk before raising the PO so that the specification and delivered pricing are confirmed first, avoiding the PO being raised against a figure that then has to be amended.

Can we purchase through a cooperative purchasing agreement instead of running our own bid?

In many cases, yes. Cooperative purchasing agreements allow a qualifying agency to purchase under an existing contract rather than run an independent competitive bid. Ask the bulk desk which pathway applies to your agency before drafting a solicitation.

Can you supply a W-9 and complete agency vendor registration?

Yes. We can complete standard vendor onboarding documentation, W-9s, and agency-specific vendor registration forms on request. Certificates of insurance are also available where a facility or contract requires one before delivery.

Do you handle tax-exempt purchases?

Yes. Supply your exemption certificate at the point of order so the invoice is raised correctly from the outset. Amending an invoice after issuance is slower than applying the exemption at the time of order.

Can one order be delivered to several different facilities?

Yes. Multi-address dispatch is standard for bulk orders, and each unit is drawn from the depot nearest its destination facility rather than shipping everything from a single origin. Delivery can be phased so units arrive as each site becomes ready.

Is delivery included in the price?

Yes. Every price shown includes delivery to your ZIP code with no separate freight charge, and pricing reflects the five nearest depots, so the figure returned is the lowest available for that address. Full pricing details are in our 2026 price breakdown.

What is the lead time on a modified container for a field office or EOC?

Longer than the 5 to 10 business days a standard unit takes, because modification work is completed before the container leaves our facility. If you are working to a fiscal year or grant deadline, call (330) 286-0526 to confirm lead time against that date before ordering.

Can we inspect the container before paying?

Pay-on-delivery is available for qualifying addresses, which means the unit is placed and inspected on your site before payment clears. Every container is also inspected before dispatch and again at delivery, with the record reviewed at handover. See the inspection process page.

What warranty comes with the container?

New 1-Trip units carry a 10-year structural and 10-year no-leak warranty. Used grades carry shorter terms, confirmed at the point of order. Warranty terms are grade-specific rather than uniform across the range.
